Accessibility statement

This statement covers zip.ms and every page on it. Last tested 29 August 2026.

What this site aims for

Every page is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Beyond that, these Level AAA criteria are met and were checked individually:

There is no such thing as a WCAG certificate, and no automated tool finds most accessibility problems. What is below is a test record, not a badge.

How it was tested

Automated checks plus a manual pass in a real browser, on 29 August 2026:

  • Every text and background pair on all eight pages measured for contrast, in all five colour settings — 40 page and theme combinations.
  • Keyboard only, from the top of each page: focus visible at every stop, focus order matching the visual order, no traps, skip link working.
  • Reflow at a 320 pixel viewport, with no horizontal scrolling.
  • Text spacing forced to 1.5 line height, 0.12em letter spacing and 0.16em word spacing, with nothing lost.
  • Text resized to 200 percent with no horizontal scrolling.
  • Every interactive target measured against the 24 and 44 pixel thresholds.
  • Every link's accessible name checked for purpose and for duplicates pointing elsewhere.

Reading options

In the header of every page there is an Accessibility menu. It offers black on white, white on black, dark on cream and yellow on black, and a setting for wider spacing between lines and paragraphs. Every one of those combinations has been contrast-checked on every page, and your choice is remembered on this device as you move between pages.

Every page is written in plain English. There are also two alternate versions of the main page: Easy Read and Large Print, each also downloadable as a PDF.

Known issues

These are the things that are not right yet. They are listed because a statement claiming perfection is not worth reading.

  • Three figures are typical rather than live without JavaScript. The panel headed “This page, measured while you read it” times the load in your own browser. With scripting off it shows typical measured values instead, labelled as such, rather than a blank.
  • Reading options need either JavaScript or a browser from 2022 onwards. With neither, the panel hides itself rather than appearing and doing nothing.
  • Third-party pages are outside this statement. Links to Google PageSpeed Insights, UptimeRobot and WhatsApp lead to sites this statement does not cover.

If the reply does not resolve it, the Equality Advisory and Support Service takes complaints about accessibility in the UK.

The legal position

This site is run by a sole trader in the United Kingdom. The Equality Act 2010 applies regardless of company size. The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025 to services supplied into the EU, though it exempts microenterprises providing services. Neither names WCAG in its text; WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the recognised way of demonstrating an accessible service, and is the standard used here.
